The Adventure Begins Tomorrow

Tomorrow begins the Bugeye Chronicles, a story of a pile of parts that will make an epic journey from Northern California to Bainbridge Island, Washington, to someday become a restored 1960 Austin Healey "Bugeye" (or "Frogeye" in Britain) Sprite.

The Sprite doesn't have a name yet--that will come later--but it does have a new home, much to the ire of my other British vehicle (who will be sleeping outside from now on). You can read more about her story at The British Land Slug.

I will fly to the Sacramento area tomorrow morning, take a shuttle to the in-law's house, and on the following day load up the Sprite, its parts, and some additional items my wife wants. Then I will haul it all up to Washington on what may be the most noble of rescue missions (aka boring solo, 14-hour drive) known to human-kind; the saving of a classic, oil-spewing British vehicles.

From there, the journey to road-worthiness begins.
